Peachtree Movers Dropped Off The Last Box, Now What?

After a long day of moving, unpacking may be the last thing you want to do, and that’s fair enough. While you don’t want to wait too long to settle in, don’t feel guilty about wanting to take some time to unwind. Time to reward yourself for a move well done! Here are some ideas if you aren’t sure what to do:

Order in
You’re tired, and don’t want to go out. But you can’t imagine having the energy to cook, either. Treat yourself, and order in! Dinner is delivered right to your door and you can take a nap on the couch, lie down with a book or, if you’re so inclined, start unpacking a few things.

Game night
If you’ve got access to board games or card games, clear a space on the floor (or at the table, if it’s set up) and unwind for a few hours.

Movie night
This is an easy one, pull out your laptop or tablet and put on your favorite film—no need to unpack the entire DVD collection or set up the TV. Laptop too small? Hit the theater and see something on the big screen.

Dinner Out
Moving builds quite an appetite and unpacking your kitchen supplies may be the last thing you want to do, so step out for a few hours and relax at a nearby restaurant.

Hit the Town
Is there a sporting event or theater performance taking place that night? Your house is full of boxes, so a great reward could mean going out to watch a game, concert, or whatever else you still have energy for.

Are There Things I Shouldn’t Pack For A Move?

Peachtree Movers Can Move Anything! Almost. There are a few items we know will be better off if they stay with you, and items that we just can’t transport. Here is the Peachtree Movers list of what not to pack for moving day.

1. VOLATILE CHEMICALS

Of particular note are volatile or otherwise sensitive chemicals. This is always important but perhaps most vital to take note of this during the warmer months. Keep them in the cabin of your car, and not in the trunk. This also goes for:

• Nail Polish Remover
• Pesticides
• Motor Oil
• Ammunition
• Batteries
• Cleaning Fluids
• Fertilizer
• Bleach

Volatile chemicals may be best dealt with by recycling them or giving them to a friend.

2. PLANTS

Some people are just as attached to their plants as they are to their pets and they need to carry them wherever they go. While we are as careful with plants as with any other of your belongings, we must tell you that if something happens to your plant, there is not much that can be done if the plant perishes. So, we advise that you carry your plants with you in a separate vehicle. The plants will likely do better in an open car than in the back of our luxurious moving truck, and you will be happier knowing that your precious living friends are picked up and placed down precisely where you desire.

3. ARTWORK AND ELECTRONICS

If you have artwork or televisions, we need to caution you when attempting to move them. Special boxes for artwork are recommended and televisions should be packed in their original packing material. Let us know how you wish to proceed with these items and we will take care of you.

4. HEIRLOOMS AND PRICELESS ITEMS

If you have items that are of extreme sentimental value or not replaceable it is highly recommended that you transport these items yourself. Examples would be money, jewelry, heirlooms, coins, high value artwork, etc.

5. HANDGUNS, RIFLES, AND AMMUNITION

These are items that you want to transport yourself as well. Please be sure that you empty your gun safes before we move them.

That’s it. We can move just about anything else and enjoy recounting stories of some of the crazy things we've been asked to move in staff meetings. Call Peachtree Movers today to schedule your next move or to get a free quote 404-355-8877.
